God has a Plan and Purpose for ALL

I certainly don't mean to stir up any more negative feelings about our new president (even though this probably will, sorry) and there are a lot of things I do like about Obama....this however, is something I strongly disagree with.

I know this woman personally...she lives in Nashville and has an AMAZING story of how she was aborted and SURVIVED!! If this doesn't make a case for everyone having the right to life...even unborn babies, then God help us.

I don't know how anyone could support abortion. I'm thankful that she is spreading the word. And praying that those who have experienced it in the past will find God's peace.

I agree that this is amazing. Just to clarify, though, Obama does not support abortion. He clearly has stated that several times. He just believes that a woman can choose for herself in what must be an unbearable decision. As he says, "No one wants abortion...." In all actuality, the President has very little to do with imposing abortion rights on Americans, rather the Supreme Court. Sorry to go on, but I get frustrated when many assume that to be a Democrat means we are "baby killers," when it couldn't be any further from the truth! Thanks for the story and for being so positive!

Suzy I must ask you, if not supporting abortion includes supporting a woman's choice to have one doesn't that ultimately result in supporting abortion? If I use that logic in the case of theft, by not legislating against the crime, I ultimately am supporting the "right" of those who chose to commit the crime and thus supporting the crime/action. Though I recognize a political leader must at times make decisions that do not necessarily reflect their exact moral stance, I have a hard time with Barack Obama's "unsupported support" especially since he said he would not want either of his daughters "punished with a baby" (his exact words) if they found themselves with an unplanned pregnancy. Every opportunity he has had to vote against abortion (e.g. late term abortion) he has not. He obviously sees one human life having more value than another.

My point is that one can say he or she does not support something but their record of response to that issue is where they really stand, whether they (and we) want to admit it or not. We live in a world where we can apparently say one thing but do another, that is hypocrisy. It is time we see things for what they are and not use philsophical rhetoric to try to make them look like something they are not.

Does this mean, then, that supporting legislation to go into another country where we kill numerous innocent unborn babies, mothers, fathers, and other children on a daily basis is any different? I think we do value one life over another when we agree to do so in the name of "defending our freedom." To me, killing is killing is killing. Neither is right. However, there is no way I can pretend to even have a glimpse into what some women must face when confronted with such a horrible decision-possibly dealing with rape,...etc.
My hope is that we can all assume the best about each other, and that we pray for our leaders, these women who face such difficult decisions daily, and those truly innocent souls in other countries in hopes that ALL killing may cease. I hope we all trust that God is bigger than any of these issues, and that ultimately, He is in control.

Suzy the point of my response is dealing with Barack Obama's stance that I find hypocritical since it allows the death of an innocent unborn child that can be avoided. It is dealing with an individual's decision to take an innocent life vs. the accidental death of innocent civilians in war. Both situations are tragic yet I find the former to be avoidable since it relates to individual choice verses the tragic results of military action to protect us and others from the Stalins and Hitlers of the world.

My husband could have been aborted, but his unwed teenage mother chose to give him up for adoption. She sacrificed 9 months so his adoptive parents could have 26 years (and counting) with him, and so I could see my prayers for a husband answered after 10 years of persistant waiting. It is one thing for an individual to choose to take a life, and a whole otherr thing to choose to give it.

God is in control but he has made us responsible for our words and our actions.
