Pray

I just found out today that Baby Ethan, who has been battling Leukemia for over a year passed away a couple of days ago. This is such a sad time for his family, but also a peaceful one because their baby boy is no longer suffering but has the most ultimate peace with Jesus. Please cover the Powell family in prayer. They have been through so much and I can't imagine it. Cancer is such a terrible disease and I don't know if I will ever understand why it continues to take our loved ones.

I'm sorry to hear this, Whit. It is hard to understand, but we just have to trust that God is loving and kind, and it will all be clear when we get to heaven. I'm praying that God will give them strength to face the coming days, and grace to use their experience to continue to witness to others. Praying for you also, Whitney, and your tender, loving, and compassionate heart to heal.
Love you so much,
Mom

Whitney
I was in sunday school and one of the girls there brought Ethan up as a prayer request a week or so ago. She had received an e-mail from some woman in Pennsylvania telling her about Ethan.
And now he too is dead.
And yet I know, not in spite of this unfathomable death, but because of the truth in my heart, that God loves little Ethan as much as he loves Katie, and it is my sincere joy to imagine them both with him.
It continues to amaze me how far-reaching emails can be, how people can find out about the Ethans and the Katies of this world and how they can pray and share and see God in such a unique way.
There are days at work when I look back at your blog and Bethany's and Abbi's, just to read Katie's words and the things people said in response to them.
I hope you and Michael are well. Come see Merriwether and me sometime. She is growing and is happy and beautiful, with the sweetest laugh and the kindest heart, just like her Mama.

Hey Whitney,

I've been following Ethan's website ever since I learned about it from your blog. I'm on a mission trip right now, but grabbed a computer to check on his progress (I've been here since last Friday) and just found out a few minutes ago about his death. They seem like such a wonderful couple and I'm definitely going to be praying for them.
